Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an innovative individual for the position of Occupational Therapist to use a holistic, client, and family-centred approach to optimize safety, functional ability, and well-being to enable participation in activities of daily living within the areas of self-care, productivity (e.g. work, home, and school) and leisure throughout each level of the developmental spectrum (e.g. birth to end of life), Emphasizing the physical, cognitive, affective, and spiritual components of clients’ functional performance and the physical, institutional, social, and cultural aspects of the environment. The Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) is a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals dedicated to delivering comprehensive, client-centered care to individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. Our primary objectives are to enhance the quality of life, support goal attainment, promote independent community living, and foster overall wellness. ACTT provides continuous, 24/7 services, 365 days a year, ensuring consistent support and intervention. The team offers both individualized and group-based interventions aimed at improving symptom management, developing essential life skills, and facilitating access to stable housing, employment opportunities, recreational activities, and social engagement. Our patient population primarily includes individuals aged 16 and older diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder. Many served by ACTT have experienced multiple psychiatric hospitalizations and present with complex needs arising from long-term, persistent symptoms.
