Therapy Services at the BC Centre for Ability includes the Early Intervention Therapy program, the North Shore School Occupational Therapy Program, the Community Brain Injury Team and SET-BC. The Early Intervention Therapy program provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and social work support for over 1000 children and their families. Services are provided in the child’s natural environments, through clinic and group opportunities, and focus on helping the child become successful in their daily routines and participation in home and community life. The North Shore School Occupational Therapy Program offers services to students, educational staff and parents to achieve student educational goals. Occupational Therapists use a collaborative model consultation to evaluate how a student’s environment, and physical, cognitive and self-regulation skills impact their ability to participate in daily occupations. Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide therapy services to children within the context of their family and community environment. Effective collaboration, communication and organizational skills will be paramount for this position. Services will be delivered in family homes, in clinic, in community settings and by virtual platforms. Departmental assignments are subject to operational and departmental needs.
