About The Position

Join a mission-driven multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping individuals with acquired brain injuries and neurological challenges regain independence and improve quality of life. We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide community-based rehabilitation services to participants enrolled in the ABI/MFP Waiver programs. Under the supervision of the Allied Health Director, the OT will work collaboratively with participants, families, and an interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized therapy plans focused on maximizing independence, safety, and functional outcomes. This role offers meaningful, person-centered work in home and community settings with flexible scheduling and strong interdisciplinary support.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts Occupational Therapist License required
  • Minimum of 2 years of preferred experience working with: Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) populations, Neurological rehabilitation, Home care or outpatient rehabilitation settings
  • Strong understanding of interdisciplinary rehabilitation approaches
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical teams
  • Commitment to person-centered, community-based rehabilitation services

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional assessments and evaluate participants’ strengths, goals, and rehabilitation needs
  • Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans focused on improving daily living skills, independence, and quality of life
  • Provide therapeutic interventions addressing: Personal management skills, Communication and cognitive functioning, Community re-entry and travel skills, Home management and adaptive living skills
  • Teach compensatory strategies and adaptive techniques to support functional independence
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create structured supports and rehabilitation plans
  • Provide education and training to staff, family members, and caregivers to reinforce participant goals and therapeutic progress
  • Assist with durable medical equipment recommendations and letters of medical necessity when required
  • Maintain timely documentation, billing, and compliance with reimbursement requirements
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and continuing education opportunities
  • Mentor students, interns, and rehabilitation staff as assigned
