Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is mandatory.
- You must hold a current Occupational Therapy License in the state of employment or be license eligible.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge and experience with sensory integration and neurodevelopment of the visual system are highly recommended and preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations to identify major problems and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Administer therapy programs, such as range of motion exercises, and perform interim evaluations to update patient programs.
- Perform on-site job, home, power tools, and height evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Consult with patients, insurance representatives, families, and therapists from various clinic disciplines to provide guidance and information.
- Communicate with outside ancillary services, such as physiatrists, orthopedists, neuro-optometrists and neurologists, as needed.
- Stay informed about all patient programs within the department.
- Instruct and supervise clinic aides and students, ensuring they complete daily treatment plans.
- Be available to provide advice or treatment at all times.
- Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's needs, including sensory integration, neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental techniques, oculomotor and visual perceptual therapies, and other specialized therapies to enhance patient outcomes.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of innovative individualized treatment strategies.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
