Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is mandatory.
  • You must hold a current Occupational Therapy License in the state of employment or be license eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with sensory integration and neurodevelopment of the visual system are highly recommended and preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial evaluations to identify major problems and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Administer therapy programs, such as range of motion exercises, and perform interim evaluations to update patient programs.
  • Perform on-site job, home, power tools, and height evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Consult with patients, insurance representatives, families, and therapists from various clinic disciplines to provide guidance and information.
  • Communicate with outside ancillary services, such as physiatrists, orthopedists, neuro-optometrists and neurologists, as needed.
  • Stay informed about all patient programs within the department.
  • Instruct and supervise clinic aides and students, ensuring they complete daily treatment plans.
  • Be available to provide advice or treatment at all times.
  • Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's needs, including sensory integration, neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental techniques, oculomotor and visual perceptual therapies, and other specialized therapies to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of innovative individualized treatment strategies.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
