About The Position

The Occupational Therapist-Rehab will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive and advanced program for occupational therapy. This position will include performing patient evaluations, goal setting, integrative treatment planning, follow-up assessments and ongoing patient and family education. Provides care according to Occupational therapy, Medical Center policies and procedures and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with discipline specific designated practice act. Is responsible for providing outpatient services under physician's orders. Fosters a constructive and supportive approach to department operations. Promotes professional, collegial relationships. Understands economic constraints and practices are designed to conserve resources. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistant and Rehabilitation Technicians when indicated. Opportunities to participate in and initiate clinical research trials, involving occupational therapy and patient treatments and/or outcomes. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
  • Suitable combination of education, training or experience along with a California license in Occupational Therapy is acceptable
  • Able to read
  • Able to write legibly
  • Able to speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Able to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate
  • Able to accept direction
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone

  • Able to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care
  • Able to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position
  • Able to discern temperature variances through touch
  • Currently licensed by California Board of Occupational Therapy required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification issued by the American Heart Association required
