About The Position

E-Therapy is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OTR) for a full-time, onsite position in DeKalb, IL, to provide FMLA coverage from August 2026 to October 2026. This role focuses on serving elementary-grade students. E-Therapy is a pioneer in special education, connecting schools with exceptional clinicians to provide accessible and impactful Occupational Therapy services nationwide. The successful candidate will help students achieve their developmental, educational, and functional goals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Must hold valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in the state in which you live in in which you are practicing.
  • Must be Registered with the National Board Certification Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Passionate about working with K-12 students
  • Experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting.
  • Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, computer skills (including email/ and Microsoft teams)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of sensory integration therapy, handwriting without tears, and other therapeutic modalities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address students' specific needs and promote skill development.
  • Monitor and document students' progress towards goals, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers and other school staff regarding strategies to promote students' participation and success in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for students' academic and functional needs.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of students' education plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork.
