About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking a Preschool Occupational Therapist for Francis of Paola ELC in New York. This role involves working with children with developmental disabilities to maximize their function and compensate for dysfunction through purposeful activities and methods. The therapist will collaborate with classroom staff to create an optimal learning environment and will be responsible for assessments, goal setting, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in Occupational Therapy
• New York State License required
• Ability to work effectively with children with developmental disabilities

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret assessment data and present attending students’ needs and capabilities.
• Establish relevant and attainable short term and long term goals which reflect assessment data.
• Prepare IEP, daily treatment plans and Progress Reports as needed.
• Work within the classroom setting and work with classroom staff to create an environment which maximizes function and compensates for dysfunction.
• Provide purposeful activities or methods, employed to develop, maintain, improve, restore and/or maximize function and compensate for dysfunction.
