About The Position

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Hand Therapist-Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist for their outpatient orthopedic center. While a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, the company is willing to consider occupational therapists with a level II fieldwork in hands. They offer a network of hand therapists and CHTs for support and are keen to mentor occupational therapists aspiring to be a CHT. The company boasts a national hand therapy program spanning 32 states, with over 300 CHTs and 300 hand therapists. They provide a nationally supported mentorship program for therapists interested in pursuing CHT credentials and various educational opportunities, including the National Upper Extremity (UE) symposium, national journal club, free local continuing education programs, a national study group, and additional certification courses.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
  • CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
  • Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
  • Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
  • Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
  • Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
