About The Position

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Hand Therapist Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist for their outpatient orthopedic center. Although a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, the company is willing to consider occupational therapists with hand/upper extremity experience who are ready to test for CHT. They offer a network of hand therapists and CHTs for support and are eager to mentor occupational therapists aspiring to become CHTs. The national hand therapy program spans 32 states, with over 300 CHTs and 300 hand therapists across the country. A nationally supported mentorship program is available in most regions for therapists interested in pursuing their CHT credentials. Educational opportunities include participation in the National Upper Extremity (UE) symposium, national journal club, free local continuing education programs, a national study group, and additional certification courses.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
  • CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
  • Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
  • Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
  • Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
  • Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
  • Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
