Sanford Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist specializing in pediatrics. This role involves assessing, designing, and implementing pediatric occupational therapy treatments to help clients, patients, and families develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform life tasks. The therapist will conduct evaluations and provide interventions for individuals with functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments, specifically evaluating physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities to set realistic therapy goals. Responsibilities include administering appropriate pediatric occupational therapy programs, documenting client information, establishing and modifying therapeutic plans, and providing education to enhance functional outcomes. The therapist will utilize age-related treatments, incorporate current research, and may treat children aged 0-18 with various diagnoses. Adherence to departmental guidelines, regulatory requirements, and accepted clinical practice guidelines is essential. The role requires flexibility with work schedules and assignments, participation in departmental promotion activities, and interaction with external individuals such as providers, case managers, and family members. There is also a potential to supervise assistants, aides, and students, and to provide ongoing education and training to peers. Depending on the facility and location, the work may focus on intervention in post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments. The department boasts a supportive team of therapists and support personnel, working in a well-equipped space with a large gym and private treatment rooms.
