About The Position

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is looking to hire a registered Occupational Therapist to provide in-home therapy services to children in San Antonio, Texas, and the surrounding areas. The therapist is a qualified professional responsible for directing, supervising, evaluating, and providing therapy services to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.

Requirements

• Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as a Certified Occupational Therapist.
• One (1) full year of work experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Familiarity with Kantime and EVV.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric and home health experience is preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and complete evaluation reports in a timely manner.
• Plan activities and provide occupational therapy services.
• Record type of treatment and patient’s reaction to it on clinical/progress notes and incorporate in the patient’s record weekly.
• Maintain adequate records on all patients, including summary reports.
• Utilize community resources and Agency personnel for proper referral.
• Attend case conferences as requested.
• Participate in staff development activities and in-service education as requested.
• Confirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Therapy Coordinator to coordinate necessary visits with other personnel.
• Participate with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities.
