HealthPRO Pediatrics is looking for a Part-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Bel Air, MD , providing immediate support to infants and toddlers. Requirements

  • Active and current State Occupational Therapist License.
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers (ages 0–5).
  • Manual dexterity to mobilize joints and perform therapeutic techniques daily.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and transfer patients to various surfaces.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach during treatment sessions.
  • Ability to sit regularly at a charting desk or computer terminal to complete documentation.
  • Ability to perform CPR if necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in a pediatric outpatient or school-based setting.
  • Proficiency in clinical skills related to sensory processing and motor skill development.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement and payor source issues (Medicare, Managed Care, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the application of occupational therapy theory and practice in alignment with organizational principles and patient needs.
  • Provide clinical expertise in evaluation and treatment, collaborating with and educating patients, physicians, families, and caregivers.
  • Serve as a patient and rehabilitation advocate, the OT participates in quality improvement and ensures a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to student success.
  • Provide direct patient care, including evaluation, treatment planning, goal setting, and documentation for the birth-to-five population.
  • Direct and supervise the work of OT assistants (COTAs), rehab techs, and students in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Conduct assessments and design measurable, evidence-based goals for fine-motor development, gross-motor coordination, visual-motor integration, and sensory processing.
  • Independently identify clinical problems and initiate appropriate actions to ensure patient progress.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with staff, families, physicians, and case managers regarding patient rights and confidentiality.
  • Participate in clinic operations, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Manage documentation and billing practices within the electronic practice management system.
  • Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures regarding personal protection and patient safety.
