The occupational therapist will also serve as an advocate, promoter of health and wellness, and an educator/mentor for students, peers, and other medical professionals. This specific role focuses on mental health, treating patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings within one of the largest psychiatric treatment groups in the United States. Treatment will be provided individually and in groups across various inpatient units including Psychiatric Acute Care, Medical and Geriatric Psychiatry, Mood Disorder, and Child, Adolescent, and Family Treatment Units. There may also be opportunities for training in Pain Rehabilitation Centers and the John E. Herman Home and Treatment Facility. Weekend rotations will involve supporting general acute clients (physical disabilities) in St. Marys Hospital.
