About The Position

The Occupational Therapist II in the Occupational Therapy Department reports to the lead Occupational Therapist III or the Rehabilitation Therapy Manager. The Occupational Therapist II develops, supervises and provides optimal patient care services as referred by physician for Occupational Therapy, based on population-specific needs utilizing a developmental and patient/family directed approach. Supervises volunteers, Occupational Therapy Aides, and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. Under the general supervision of a lead Occupational Therapist III or Manager, acts as a mentor and expert in specific clinical area. Provides clinical education experiences for OT and OTA students. Participates in professional development and shares clinical knowledge and expertise with others. The Occupational Therapist II works in both Out-Patient and In-Patient services, all units throughout the hospital based on the referrals received and assigned caseload.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • One year of experience as an occupational therapist
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
