About The Position

The Occupational Therapist II supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA), contributes to program development, and ensures high-quality patient care consistent with departmental and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provides outpatient occupational therapy services during assigned shifts including occasional weekend or holiday coverage as required.
  • Performs initial evaluations, periodic reevaluations, and updates treatment plans and goals in collaboration with physicians as appropriate.
  • Delivers evidence-based interventions tailored to the patients diagnosis, learning needs, and age.
  • Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Educates patients and caregivers on therapy procedures, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and safe use of assistive or adaptive equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, families, and third party payers regarding patient status and treatment progression.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to Occupational Therapist I staff, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and students.
  • Contributes to program development, quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, in services, and professional development activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of patient care and clinic operations.
