About The Position

Join a collaborative rehabilitation team dedicated to helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. As a Short Hour Occupational Therapist at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, you will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients restore essential daily living, vocational, and functional skills following illness, injury, or disability. In this role, you'll build meaningful relationships with patients and their support systems through compassionate care, clinical expertise, and effective communication. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited occupational therapy program.
  • OT-Occupational Therapist
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Critical thinking, complex problems solving, decisive judgement and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirements.
  • Computer and required technology proficiency/competencies.
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills as well as interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service and community relations abilities.
  • Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills.
  • Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop personalized treatment plans to improve functional independence and quality of life.
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions in a dynamic acute care environment.
  • Partner with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members to support optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide guidance and clinical supervision to therapy assistants and aides.
  • Support the education and development of occupational therapy students as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards while maintaining the highest level of patient care.
