About The Position

At Palo Alto Medical Foundation – Santa Cruz, you’ll play a meaningful role in helping patients regain independence—with a specialized focus in hand therapy—within a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Independently assess, plan, and deliver targeted rehabilitative programs that restore and enhance fine motor function, upper extremity strength, and coordination, while also supporting vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills. This role emphasizes hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, working with patients recovering from injury, surgery, or conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and arm. Build strong, trusting relationships with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary care teams through compassionate care, thoughtful assessments, and clear, engaging communication. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited occupational therapy program.
  • OT-Occupational Therapist Certification & Licensure
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification & Licensure
  • 2 years recent relevant experience
  • Critical thinking, complex problems solving, decisive judgement and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirements.
  • Computer and required technology proficiency/competencies.
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient professional communication (verbal & written) skills as well as interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork/collaboration, customer service and community relations abilities.
  • Able to retain and apply new knowledge & skills.
  • Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.
