About The Position

This is a full-time Occupational Therapist position specializing in Hand Therapy at High Point Medical Center - Outpatient Rehabilitation. The role involves performing specialized tests, conducting comprehensive evaluations, planning intervention strategies, and providing direct occupational therapy treatment. The therapist will document patient progress, participate in care planning meetings like IFSP, and engage in quality assurance activities. The position is based in High Point, North Carolina, and offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure.
  • CPR Certification every two years.
  • Valid NC driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
  • Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan.
  • Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses; work may be performed in homes, agencies, preschools or clinics.
  • Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
  • Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient.
  • Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
  • Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance.
  • Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools to ensure most beneficial practices for population served.
  • Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
