About The Position

NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Hand Therapist-Occupational Therapist for our outpatient orthopedic center! Although a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, we are willing to consider occupational therapists who are close to sitting for their CHT but must have at least 2000 hours of licensed experience working in hand therapy. We have a network of hand therapists and CHTs available for support and are excited to mentor occupational therapists aspiring to be a CHT. Our national hand therapy program spans 32 states, with over 300 CHTs and 300 hand therapists across the country. Our nationally supported mentorship program is for therapists interested in pursuing their CHT credentials. Take part in the National Upper Extremity (UE) symposium, national journal club, free local continuing education programs, national study group, and additional certification courses.

Requirements

• Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
• CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 2000 hours of licensed experience working in hand therapy.

Nice To Haves

• Certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred
• At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
• Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
• Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
• Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
• Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
