Occupational Therapist -Hand Therapist
About The Position
Banner Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Hand Therapist-OTR for their outpatient orthopedic center located in Gilbert, AZ. They offer mentorship for occupational therapists aspiring to become certified hand therapists, with support from a network of hand therapists and CHTs. The team is dynamic and close-knit, with various specialties, established clinicians, and a diverse patient population. New graduates with hand clinical experience are welcome. The role offers opportunities for clinical skill growth and making a positive impact on patients' lives. The national hand therapy program spans 32 states and includes over 300 CHTs and 300 hand therapists. Educational opportunities include the National Upper Extremity (UE) symposium, national journal club, free local continuing education programs, national study group, and additional certification courses.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an AOTA accredited school of Occupational Therapy and state OT License required
- Experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedics is required
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the evaluation, plan of care, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications of high quality hand therapy services to patients and customers.
- Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care.
- Maintain positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
- Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
