Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapist
About The Position
NovaCare Rehabilitation in Bowie, MD, is seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic outpatient team. This is a great opportunity for a therapist who enjoys working with upper extremity (UE) cases and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We are ideally looking for a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or an OT with at least 2 years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation. The position offers as needed, per diem hours, with potential for steady part-time hours. The center is open from 7 AM to 7 PM Monday through Thursday and until 2 PM on Friday.
Requirements
- Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
- CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
- At least 2 years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation
- At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
- Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
- Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
- Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
- Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
- Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
