About The Position

Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join their multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on providing one-on-one treatment to children in a collaborative and positive practice environment. The practice offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a clinical setting and incorporates hippotherapy. Leaps & Bounds prioritizes the family-centered approach, aiming to help children achieve their therapy goals and improve the quality of life for families. Requirements

  • Possess a valid California COTA License
  • Clear Livescan
  • TB Test
  • CPR Healthcare Provider Card
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility

  • Have a desire to continue to grow as a professional
  • Regularly stand, bend, stoop, lift and move intermittently during shift
  • Must be able to lift up to a minimum of 50lbs
  • Must be able to push or pull wheeled items over 100lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct occupational therapy to children and follows documented treatment plans or protocols.
  • Help patients accomplish goals outlined in the treatment plan to increase independence in activities of daily living skills by administering therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and sensory skills.
  • Document patient performance such as tallying data.
  • Prepare therapy materials and/or equipment for use in therapy activities.
  • Adapt or modify materials and equipment as determined by the needs of the patient.
  • May work in a variety of settings including clinic, ranch, or telehealth services.
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • Collaborate with team members of other disciplines as well as administrative staff.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs, instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs, and recommending/providing assistive equipment with the primary occupational therapist.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
