Occupational Therapist Assistant - Savage, MN
About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is hiring licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants to provide hands-on care to older adults in Savage, Minnesota, and surrounding communities. Using FOX’s Geriatric House Calls™ model, care is delivered in patients’ homes and senior living communities. The OTA works closely with a supervising Occupational Therapist to carry out individualized treatment plans, guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, and support their strength, mobility, confidence, and independence. The role offers one-on-one patient care within a supportive, interdisciplinary team that includes PTs, OTs, SLPs, and Fitness Specialists. OTAs receive mentorship from their supervising OT and opportunities to grow their clinical skills, caseload, and career. FOX offers full-time, part-time, and PRN/FOX Flex pathways. Requirements
- Hold a valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or be eligible to obtain one.
- Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Have basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Meet the physical demands of in-home and community-based care, including lifting, CPR, patient transfers and bed mobility, varied postures and extensive walking, repetitive upper-extremity movements, driving to patient locations, and wearing PPE when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, while observing and tracking progress.
- Document visits accurately and on time in FOX’s EMR system in accordance with FOX’s Clinical Documentation standards.
- Stay connected with patients, POAs, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
