About The Position

We are hiring an Occupational Therapist for the Acute Care department at Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, IL. This is a PRN position with a day shift schedule. The role involves evaluating patients with various deficits, designing and implementing treatment plans, assessing independent living skills, documenting progress, and planning for discharge. The Occupational Therapist will also educate patients and recommend adaptive equipment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Occupational Therapy (OT) license credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation prior to hire date or job transfer date required. A valid license pending letter will be accepted until license is issued.
Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
1-year acute care experience.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits.
Design and implement patient-centered, effective treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
Assess the patient's ability to safely perform independent living skills.
Document patient progress, monitor, and modify the plan of care as necessary.
Plan and assist with discharge, including education and recommendations for adaptive equipment.
