At Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility in beautiful Burien, Washington, our team works to serve youth ages 13 to 17 who have co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities. Facility staff work alongside youth, empowering them to learn self-care skills so that they can thrive. As an Occupational Therapist 3, you will be involved in coordinating facility activities and programs. You will conduct workplace consultations to assist the facility in preventing musculoskeletal injuries or adjusting job roles for safer and more comfortable work environments. You will work under general supervision, administering occupational therapy services, and function as the sole professional occupational therapist. The facility has 12 beds and 108 full-time employees with potential growth to 24 beds and 196+ full-time employees. The property was designed with children and youth in mind and features accessible spaces for onsite educational services and therapies, as well as access to outdoor space. The voluntary facility will initially serve 12 youths. This new therapeutic facility has a focus to help youth, age 13 and older, with co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities who have complex needs such as mental illness or substance use disorder. King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
