Occupational Safety Intern (Summer 2027)

About The Position

The Safety Intern will provide support to the Safety department by working on a variety of safety related projects while gaining exposure to a variety of functional areas and business segments within the organization. Job duties will vary depending on business unit and location of internship. This internship is full time, 40 hours per week, during the summer of 2026.

Requirements

Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Occupational Health or related field.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Ability to learn new programs quickly while working in a fast-paced work environment.
Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential.
Familiar with manufacturing and safety principles is a plus.
Ability to work independently when necessary.

Responsibilities

Conduct written program/procedure reviews and develop training curriculums based on these programs.
Assist with accident investigations and follow-up with required corrective action.
Develop and/or update safety and health training programs for various business units.
Provide daily support to the safety department on a variety of safety projects.
Assist and conduct internal compliance and injury reduction assessments to include follow through.
Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations on potential improvements.
Quantify and present safety & health statistics to the management team.
Support and manage the Safety Management System (SMS)
All other duties and projects as assigned.
