The candidate must be located in the Dallas, TX area and be able to commute to the airport worksite 5 days per week. As an Occupational Nurse, you will be embedded on-site with a highly engaged employer at the airport and work closely with treating physicians/providers, a return‑to‑work specialist, work groups at the airport, physical therapists, employers, customers, legal representatives, and the injured/disabled person. You will help create and implement practical, workplace-focused treatment and return‑to‑work plans that support appropriate and cost-effective healthcare services, maximum medical recovery, and a safe, timely return to an optimal level of work and functioning. In this role, you will: Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and competency in the application of occupational health and case management standards of practice in an on-site employer setting. Use advanced knowledge of occupational injuries, medications, comorbidities, treatment options, treatment alternatives, and knowledge of specific job duties and work environments to advise on safe, effective treatment and return‑to-work plans. Interview injured/disabled employees to assess overall recovery, including whether injuries or conditions are occupational or non‑occupational, and identify any workplace factors impacting recovery. Collaborate with treating physicians/providers, the on-site return‑to‑work specialist, physical therapists, and employer representatives, utilizing available resources to help create and implement individualized, work‑focused treatment and return‑to-work plans. Work with employers and physicians to evaluate job demands and modify job duties where practical to facilitate early, safe return to work, including on-site follow‑up with employees in various airport work areas. Evaluate and modify case and return‑to‑work goals based on injured/disabled person's improvement, treatment effectiveness, and job requirements in the airport environment. Independently manage your on-site caseload and daily schedule, including prioritizing cases, responding to injuries as they occur, and deciding how best to manage cases effectively while maintaining strong relationships with the employer. Complete other duties, such as attending injured worker appointments when appropriate, preparing status updates for submittal to customers and employer partners, participating in on-site meetings, and performing other occupational health and case management activities as assigned.
