The Occupational Health Technician is responsible for providing drug and alcohol testing and other ancillary services. Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School or equivalent required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Bilingual and/or English and Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • LifeLock or equivalent Certified Professional Collector, and LifeLock Certified Breath Alcohol Technician, or certified within twelve (12) months after hire date.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in Drug testing or as a medical technician is desired; knowledge of drug screening rules and regulations is desirable.
  • Preferred understanding of Occupational Health or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Drug Screens both in clinic and on-site settings.
  • Perform Breath and Alcohol Test in clinic and on-site settings.
  • Demonstrate competency in department-specific technical skills
  • Maintain required certification
  • Prepare the patient for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
  • Stock and Clean examination rooms.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate medical records.
  • On-call is a job requirement
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population-specific needs of the patients served.
