About The Position

Provides employment related health care services to area business and industry clients. Services may be delivered in the Deaconess COMP Center Clinic or on-site at the client's location. Responsible for preparation of materials related to services, delivery of services, processing any necessary information to provide reporting to client, and charge entry of service for billing department to process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Minimum of one year relevant experience more of related health care experience
  • Position requires a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year relevant experience related training from a college or technical school in a health occupations
  • Training and appropriate licensure/certification as an EMT
  • Paramedic
  • Training in one or more of the following- occupational hearing conservation, spirometry, respiratory fit testing, breath alcohol testing certification, phlebotomy, and urine drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Competently performs urine drug screen services, hair drug testing, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, spirometry, and respiratory fit testing.
  • Performs other employment and/or relative health care services allowed under applicable law and regulations and which are within scope of training.
  • Prepares reports detailing necessary information for use by client regarding services provided.
  • Prepares information for use by Billing Department to invoice for services provided.
  • Processes drug screening results and other surveillance results.
  • Assists in Medical Review Officer functions.
  • Enters Department of Transportation physical results into the National Registry for COMP Center patients.
  • Assures equipment is properly maintained and appropriate supplies are available for use when needed.
  • Assists clinical staff in providing services when necessary which are within scope of practice and training.
  • Adheres to all policies for compliance with ISDH, OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, HFAP and any other appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Utilizes universal precautions in handling infectious/hazardous waste material.
  • Maintains current knowledge base and stays current with healthcare trends by reading professional journals/literature, attending CME’s, completing all required WebInservices, and seminar/conference attendance as approved by the Manager.
  • Reads and replies to educational/informational e-mails in a timely manner.
  • Attends staff and other meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with Standards of Employee Conduct as specified by policy 45-19.
