Occupational Health & Safety Specialist - 2nd Shift

The Occupational Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for treating occupational and personal injuries and illnesses, ensuring definitive care is accessed when needed. This role works in cooperation with occupational health providers and workers compensation administrators to achieve the best possible outcome for injured or ill individuals. The specialist will also provide support to the safety department as directed by the Safety Supervisor and/or Safety Manager, performing specific safety-related duties to help team members work safely and avoid injury.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related role/field.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
- Emergency Medical Technician- Basic license is required at a minimum.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic computer skills including Gmail/Google Suite products.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Must be dependable and be able to work well with others.
- Requires good customer service skills.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision.
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment of continuous change and challenges.
- Must practice good personal hygiene.
- Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
Nice To Haves
- Paramedics or Certified CPR trainer is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment to our team members when injuries occur.
- Provide follow up care and monitor injured team members.
- Complete medical records, tracking data, and direct accident investigation actions.
- Review and document updated physician ordered restrictions for all occupational injuries on shift.
- Manage return to work assignments and time schedules.
- Provide support to the HR department to conduct drug testing for pre-employment/post offer, accident, and random screening process.
- Work in cooperative effort to ensure prescribed work restrictions are followed.
- Forward all pertinent related paperwork to the Safety Manager and Safety Compliance Manager for review.
- Facilitate hearing testing.
- Assist with safety projects including but not limited to: conducting Ergonomic Assessments, Lockout/Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Pre-startup Safety Reviews and Risk Assessments.
- Perform safety duties as assigned by the Safety Manager.
- All other duties as assigned.
