Requirements

• Licensed to practice medicine in the State where assigned.
• Preferably Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, or leading toward certification with three years of experience in Occupational Medicine.
• Knowledgeable in OSHA record keeping and compliance.
• Ability to manage disability and workers compensation cases.
• Ability to respond to emergencies anywhere on the plant premises and participate in emergency drills.
• Ability to provide advisory and consulting services to Plant Management, Chief Physician, and Corporate Medical Operations.
• Ability to provide first-aid and emergency care.
• Ability to provide care for occupational illness and injury.
• Ability to perform assessments and referrals for occupational illness or injury care.
• Ability to provide limited supportive care and/or referral for non-occupational medical conditions.
• Ability to conduct medical examinations (pre-placement, transfer, fitness, return to work, termination, disability determination).
• Ability to perform medical examinations or tests for monitoring occupational exposures.
• Ability to conduct medical status evaluations for case management.
• Ability to provide assistance and advisory services to WHS and Managerial Personnel.
• Ability to administer immunizations.
• Ability to conduct epidemiological surveillance.
• Ability to coordinate with third-party vendors for wellness programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Leader of their respective medical department.
• Manage disability and workers' compensation cases.
• Respond to emergencies anywhere on the plant premises and participate in emergency drills.
• Provide advisory and consulting services to Plant Management, Chief Physician, and Corporate Medical Operations.
• Provide first-aid and emergency care for employees, contract employees, and visitors.
• Provide care for occupational illness and injury.
• Perform assessments and referrals for occupational illness or injury care, in accordance with Workers’ Compensation and regulations.
• Provide limited supportive care and/or referral for non-occupational medical conditions.
• Conduct medical examinations including pre-placement physicals, transfer, fitness, return to work, termination, and temporary/permanent disability determination.
• Perform medical examinations or tests for monitoring occupational exposures.
• Conduct medical status evaluations to assist in the case management of compensable illness or injury claimants.
• Conduct medical status evaluations to assist in the case management of employees on extended (non-occupational) sickness disability leave.
• Provide assistance and advisory services to Wellbeing, Health & Safety (WHS) and Managerial Personnel.
• Administer immunizations.
• Conduct epidemiological surveillance, identifying and reporting clusters or patterns of illnesses or risks.
• Participate in special health studies or health trend analysis.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for wellness and health promotion services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
