About The Position

This position is located at the McKinney, TX facility. The Occupational Health Nurse (RN) will be an independent and organized member of the occupational health team to provide clinical, health assessment, and preventive health services for the Dynacraft McKinney Evening and Third Shift employees and specified contract employees. The Occupational Health Nurse (RN) is expected to work generally – Monday through Friday on evening shift. This role does require periodic shift changes in support of Safety Initiatives and Events.

Requirements

  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work with employees and managers at all different levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of OSHA, State, and Federal laws
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Current licensure as an unencumbered registered nurse (RN) in Texas, or a valid compact license with Texas multi-state privileges or able to meet Texas reciprocity requirements
  • Three years of clinical experience required
  • Three years of safety experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Occupational Medical experience preferred
  • Accredited CPR/AED/First Aid Trainer preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and administers basic first aid care of minor illness and injuries and provides immediate emergency care, coordinating with supervisors or consulting physician in arranging referral and transportation for additional medical care when necessary
  • Provides substance abuse screening as needed in compliance with Company Policies and Procedures
  • Maintains drug and medical supplies, issues protective equipment and maintains related medical records
  • Provides health education, counseling and support for the delivery of the sites' preventive wellness services
  • Compiles accident statistics, maintains injury/illness logs, collects attendance data, and communicates with attending physicians as part of the disability management process and workers compensation process
  • Timely response to completion of safety items, audit findings, employee concerns, and near misses
  • Conduct benchmarking activities of other PACCAR and non-PACCAR plant employees
  • Other duties as assigned
