This position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness care, and wellness education for employees within the nursing scope of practice, adhering to Client Standards, policies, procedures, and treatment care guidelines. The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care, manages workers’ compensation claims, facilitates the Modified Duty/Return to Work program, and assists with other occupational and environmental health services. The role requires a professional and patient-centered approach, providing rapid first aid, medical care for emergencies, episodic care for minor issues, and health promotion. Key responsibilities include managing the Return to Work Program, case management of work-related incidents, participating in Workers’ Compensation claims, supporting injury prevention through education and ergonomic evaluations, assisting with various employee exams, and maintaining communication with the Consulting Medical Director and supervisors. The role also involves acting as a liaison to the Employee Assistance Program, supporting wellness initiatives, managing medical records, and preparing utilization reports. Additionally, the nurse will conduct or support Medical Surveillance exams, perform drug testing, assist in developing protocols and policies, contribute to incident reports, lead emergency response activities, and manage travel medicine programs. Maintaining data, OSHA 300 forms, ordering supplies, and participating in general clinic operations are also part of the role. Over-the-counter medications may be provided as agreed upon with the Customer and allowed by state licensure.
