The Norfolk Department of Public Health is seeking a Wage Occupational Health (Employee Health) Nurse. This role provides part-time clinical and occupational health services to employees within the Local Health District. The incumbent is responsible for supporting employee health, safety, and fitness-for-duty through standardized occupational health processes including intake health evaluations, immunization review, TB screening and risk assessment, respirator fit testing coordination, and limited episodic/acute employee care as appropriate within scope of practice. The position functions as the primary clinical resource for employee health and works closely with Human Resources to ensure timely, consistent, and confidential processing of occupational health requirements. The nurse supports workforce readiness by promoting health protection measures, monitoring compliance with required health standards, and assisting in workplace health risk mitigation. The role does not serve as the lead OSHA compliance officer but may support occupational health safety initiatives in coordination with agency safety or compliance staff.
