About The Position

Wood is recruiting for an Occupational Health Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join its Operations Americas business focusing on Oil & Gas. This opportunity is onsite in Washington, WV, United States. The Occupational Health Industrial Hygiene Specialist will work as a key team member in supporting Workplace Safety, Process Safety Management (PSM), Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, and Respiratory Protection. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or safety related discipline or relevant work and experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledgeable of governmental Occupational Health regulations and guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in team environment with differing backgrounds and experience levels
• Demonstrated ability to utilize computer software, 3EOnline, Cority IH, Cority EHS, LOGAN, Microsoft Office, MSA SCBA Flow Calibration, TSI PortaCount fit test, Washington Works Hazchem S15, Washington Works Industrial Hygiene.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Demonstrate strong verbal, written, analytical skills and be able to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
• Experience with the operation, calibration, and maintenance of the following equipment: Air filtration breather box, Colorimetric air sampling tubes, Electron Capture Gas Chromograph, Grade D Breathing Air test kit, Hearing dosimeter, Indoor Air Quality Bio Pump, Indoor air quality meter, Industrial Hygiene air sampling pumps & Media, Miran Sapphire, Photo Ionization Detector, Respiratory quantitative fit testing instrumentation, SCBA care and calibration, Thermoanemometer, and other direct reading chemical instruments.
• Experience with any of the listed Occupational Health activities: Analytical Chemistry, Ergonomics, Hearing conservation, Industrial Hygiene air sampling, IH bulk sampling, IH wipe sampling and associated validated analytical methods, Indoor air quality for industry and office environment, OSHA HazCom 1910.1200 compliance, PPE, Radiation hazards, Qualitative exposure assessments by means of statistical analysis and risk assessment tools, Respiratory protection 1910.134 compliance, and Shelter in place.
• Experience with mandated and recommended exposure guidance publications (i.e., OSHA PEL’s, ACGIH TLV’s, DuPont’s AEL’s and OEL’s, or other organizations recommended exposure guideline documents.)
• Familiar with OSHA 1910 or 1926, OSHA standards, Familiar with the terms, General Duty Clause, Incorporated by reference, letters of interpretation, and Plan, Do, Check, Act.

Nice To Haves

• Obtained or hold any Professional or Technical level certification or certificate program credentials. (i.e., CIH, CIHT, CSP, CST, OHST, OSHA 10 or 30 Hour, SMS, or equivalent.)

Responsibilities

• Safety management for the site to comply with regulatory and external requirements as well as company policies/standards/guidelines.
• Maintaining auditing, periodic communication, and relevant OH/IH procedures and training for the Site and.
• Conduct 1st Party Audits and work with the leadership team to analyze results to drive continual improvement.
• Support 2nd party audits schedule and execution for the OH/IH competency.
• Develop and implement plans to resolve any audit findings for those audits and/or assessments.
• Provide the OH/IH/Safety related feedback for helping site leadership team to make decisions.
• Participate in the networks / meetings / and external inspections for the site.
• Assist in the investigation for any incidents and near miss or exposure to workplace safety.
