About The Position

As an Occupational Therapist in the Department of Plastic Surgery's Hand Clinic, you will plan and administer occupational therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation to patients who have experienced a hand or upper extremity injury, trauma, disease-related condition, or surgical intervention. You will plan therapy programs according to the individual needs of patients. This is a full-time schedule consisting of four 10-hour days, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
No experience
Certification by the Board of Registry of the American Occupational
Knowledge of biology, clinical judgment, medicine, cultural awareness, and consulting.
Medical documentation, interpersonal, practice-based learning and improvement, empathy, and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy
1 or more years of experience with hand rehabilitation

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop a treatment plan that integrates input from team members, patients, and family.
Perform therapy in accordance with the treatment plan and evaluate results.
Accurately, promptly, and thoroughly document patient’s care observations, interventions, and evaluations.
Instruct patient’s family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
Maintain therapy equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
Collaborate with Physicians during patients 1:1 appointment.
Pre-clinic evaluations, Orthosis, Home Exercise Programs, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
