If so, we are looking for you to join our team as a Recertification and Occupancy Specialist at our 1689 unit (HUD Project Based Section 8 and LIHTC) affordable housing community in New York, NY. Community Information: Manhattan Plaza consists of two 46-story high-rise towers and various town-homes totaling 1,689 residential units of federally-subsidized housing. Encompassing a full city block, the property also includes street level retail, a parking garage and fitness center. The property is centrally located at 400 West 43rd Street, just west of Times Square. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS AN RECERTIFICATION AND OCCUPANCY SPECIALIST Utilize your organizational skills and experience to provide the preeminent affordable housing accommodations in your community. Through your daily interactions with prospective and current residents, you’ll create a welcoming experience and sense of community. Process certifications (including initial, interim, and annual); calculate retroactive rent while conforming to all applicable guidelines. Collect necessary documentation from current or prospective residents, and process verifications. Apply correct rents for annual and interim recertification; adjust to remain compliant. Review and finalize HUD 50059 forms. Prepare rent repayment agreements and explain rent calculations to residents according to HUD guidelines. Review EIV reports and resolve discrepancies. Organized and Detail-Oriented: Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while efficiently managing multiple projects and deadlines. Self-Sufficient and Adaptable: Complete tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision, thriving in a busy, high-volume environment. Effective Time Management: Prioritize and manage time to consistently meet deadlines and exceed expectations. Support site and office operations as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • You have at least 1 year of experience with HUD Project Based Section 8, LIHTC / Low Income Housing Tax Credit, and other affordable housing programs preferred
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday 8AM-5PM
  • You have COS/TCS/BOS credentials, or willing to attain within six months to one year of hire; training is provided
