About The Position

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties relating to general accounting and property management in compliance with HUD regulations; maintains tenant files in accordance with HUD requirements and internal procedures; maintains confidentiality of tenant eligibility information.

Requirements

• High School diploma with at least five (5) years accounting or property management experience.
• Must be a self-starter who is able to multitask effectively in a constantly changing work environment.
• Must be proficient in use of computer keyboard and 10-key calculator.
• Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills are required.
• Must be able to complete training and obtain certification for CPO credentials within six months, if not currently certified.

• Associates degree in accounting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Collects financial information required for new leases and annual lease renewals on all tenants in HUD properties.
• Prepares tenant eligibility forms and lease documents for tenant files.
• Completes data entry for transmittal of monthly housing assistance vouchers and submits through TRACS.
• Coordinates and prepares responses to MOR reports and REAC inspections.
• Communicates with HUD Regional Office and THDA staff regarding issues applicable to voucher processing and tenant records.
• Assists Accounting Manager and Director of Fiscal Services during annual audit and periodic agency reviews.
• Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable for all projects.
• Performs month-end and preliminary year-end closings, and prepares monthly reports.
• Reconciles bank accounts for Orange Grove Center, and prepares internal cost report worksheets in Excel.
