About The Position

Our Lifemark Highgate clinic is located in the beautiful mountains of Burnaby, with ample parking underground. We have a spacious, bright rehabilitation gym and private treatment rooms for physiotherapy, massage therapy, occupational therapy, dizziness and balance and other treatments. As an Occupational Therapist in our Customized Recovery and Return to Work Program, you will play a key role in assessing and treating clients who have sustained workplace injuries and require a tailored return-to-work program. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, individualized care that supports recovery and a successful return to work and daily functioning. In addition to working with the RTW program, you will have the opportunity to participate in other work streams such as FCEs, Community OT services and Veterans Rehabilitation services. Requirements

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • With 1-3 years of work experience in a private rehabilitation work environment as an OT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Newly licensed graduates are welcome to apply. We will provide the mentorship and coaching to help you succeed in your career.
  • Preferably with access to own vehicle for community-based work.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients
  • Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in the assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up of clients
  • Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments
  • Identification of appropriate equipment needs with the initiation of recommendations
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
  • Excel in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment
