About The Position

We are seeking an Obstetrics & Gynecology physician for a Locum Tenens position at an Inpatient facility in Fredericksburg, VA. This is a call-only coverage role, requiring 24-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM. The physician will be responsible for managing patient care including low and high-risk pregnancies, FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesis, and routine/complicated deliveries. The facility has 16 beds in the department, a Trauma Level II, and Facility PEDS Level III. There are 2 OBGYN MDs on call 24/7, supported by 5 RNs and 2 APPs. Anesthesia coverage is available 24/7 in-house. Temporary privileges are available. We are looking for coverage for various dates in July and August and are willing to work with locums to schedule every other day, but not consecutive shifts.

Requirements

• Active VA License
• BC/BE in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour call coverage for Obstetrics & Gynecology services.
• Manage low and high-risk pregnancies.
• Perform and interpret FHR (NST/CST/FSE).
• Perform and interpret OB Ultrasounds (Level I/Screening and Level II/Targeted).
• Perform Amniocentesis.
• Manage routine and complicated deliveries.
• Admit patients.
• Participate in rounding.
