About The Position

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join their exceptional health care team. Certified Nurse Midwives at LVHN work collaboratively with other providers to deliver a full scope of care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves time spent at outpatient practices in Allentown and Bethlehem, as well as nearby Lehigh Valley Hospitals. The position offers full-scope midwifery, including outpatient OB, uncomplicated GYN care, well-woman exams, STI screening and treatment, and contraception management. The role includes 12-hour inpatient shifts and 8-hour outpatient shifts, with rotating nights, weekends, and holidays, and in-house call components. The goal is to collaboratively benefit the health and wellness of both mom and baby. LVHN's Obstetrics and Gynecology department serves women's preventive, gynecologic, and obstetrics needs across over 30 service sites in 11 counties, with five Family Birth and Newborn Centers and additional locations for gynecologic surgical care. Practitioners have the option to choose between intimate, community-based programs or busy, academic tertiary referral hospitals. The role also offers the ability to teach and train students and residents at some locations.

Requirements

Current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
Graduate from an accredited educational Nurse Midwifery program.
CNM certification.
2 years of L&D nursing experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Positive, caring, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

Deliver a full scope of care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Provide outpatient OB and uncomplicated GYN care, including well-woman exams, STI screening and treatment, and contraception management (Nexplanon and IUDs).
Work 12-hour inpatient shifts and 8-hour outpatient shifts.
Participate in rotating nights, weekends, and holidays.
Engage in in-house call components.
Collaboratively benefit the health and wellness of the mom and baby.
Provide maternity care at Family Birth and Newborn Centers.
Provide gynecologic surgical care using traditional and advanced minimally invasive techniques.
Collaborate with a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurse midwives.
Teach and train students and residents at some locations.
