About The Position

Join our busy and collaborative North region group providing a comprehensive and distinct complement of services designed to meet the unique healthcare needs of women throughout their lives, including adolescence, puberty, adulthood, menopause, and senior care for our Mercy Women's Health North region. Services include well visits, preventive screenings, breast health, genetic services, diagnostic imaging, preconception counseling, fetal assessment, labor and delivery (high-risk/low-risk), mother/baby, gynecology oncology care, obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine, recognized NICU care, urogynecology care, bone health, education, and award-winning birth centers, with all three metro’s receiving highest ranking status for maternity care. Key Position Details: Seven labor and delivery locations, 12,300 deliveries annually, 30+ clinics, OBGYNs, OB hospitalists, Clinical Nurse Midwives/APP’s and Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists Nursing Support programs for Rx refills, triage and pap results After hours answering service support & Anesthesiology available Quaternary hospital: Abbott Northwestern, Lv IV NICU; Tertiary hospitals - Mercy and United with level III NICUs, and 6 regional hospitals Mentorship/learning from a group of 80+ providers across our health system Integrative Medicine collaboration, Perinatal Mental Health & Uro/Gyn Excellian, our EMR, is a software product from Epic and is considered one of the most comprehensive systems in the nation. Requirements

  • Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in OB/GYN
  • Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice if working in the State of MN required and must be board certified or be eligible for board certification within Obstetrics and Gynecology upon hire
  • Licensed Physician - WI if working in the state of WI upon hire required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required
  • Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required
  • National Provider Identifier upon hire required

Nice To Haves

  • Ultrasound experience preferred or willing to be trained

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care for obstetric and gynecology patients.
  • Provides direct patient care to women which may include specializing in areas of general medicine, the reproductive system, pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
  • Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
  • Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
  • Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or workflows.
  • May participate in peer review and quality assurance.
