About The Position
At North Vista Hospital, the Observation Attendant works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains constant visual observation of an assigned patient. The attendant helps provide a safe and clean environment and regularly communicates observations of the patient’s activity and behavior to the assigned nurse. The role also involves professional, respectful communication with patients, families or significant others, and other healthcare members, as well as offering support to peers and staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
- Within 90 days, be eligible to participate in a C.N.A. Training program.
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant visual observation of an assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist in providing a safe and clean environment.
- Regularly communicate observations of the patient’s activity and behavior to the assigned nurse.
- Communicate professionally and demonstrate respect for patients, families or significant others, and other healthcare members.
- Offer support to peers and staff.
