About The Position

As a 3M Observability Architect, you will define how the organization understands the health, performance, and reliability of its technology environment. You will establish a unified observability strategy across cloud, infrastructure, applications, networks, security, and business-critical services. Using technologies such as Amazon CloudWatch, Cribl, Splunk, application performance monitoring, and AI, you will connect fragmented telemetry into actionable insight that helps teams detect issues earlier, troubleshoot faster, and prevent recurring incidents. You will also design automated root-cause investigations using AI technologies to improve observability. This role follows an on-site working model, with employees working at least four days per week in the office at 3M Center in Maplewood, Minnesota. Travel is 10%. Relocation is available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status. The position may involve direct or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, and technologies subject to U.S. Export Control Laws. The role requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity, completed and verified before starting, ten years of IT infrastructure experience, five years of cloud technologies experience, three years of observability experience, and three years of experience with AI tools. The expected compensation range for U.S. applicants is $164,612–$201,193, including base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
