We are looking for a dynamic Ultrasound Technologist who is comfortable working independently and travelling to various clinic locations. The ideal candidate will enjoy patient interaction and be able to explain the procedures to the patients and address any concerns they may have.

Requirements

  • Registered as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Vascular Technologist (RVT) by The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS or registered as a Technologist (RT)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registered as a Cardiac Sonographer (RCS),
  • Registered Vascular Sonography (RVS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • Excellent patient service skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of anatomy, and diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
  • Knowledge of Ultrasound procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform Ultrasound testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Skill in following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
  • Ability to notice detail in drawings and differences in shapes and shadings.
  • Ability to read and write instructions, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees.
  • Ability to competently use Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic procedures applying prescribed methods of ultrasound technique.
  • Produces diagnostic images using Doppler.
  • Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field and other specifications of test.
  • Maintains equipment according to manufacturer’s requirements and industry standards, at least once a month.
  • Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations including echocardiograms utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data.
  • Create Superbill in EMR for each Patient Procedure.
  • Upload images, verify diagnostic orders, and verify patient information to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare exam rooms, maintain sonography equipment, and report maintenance needs.
