About The Position

The OB Technologist scrubs for C-section surgical procedures and provides personal care and comfort to patients in the Delivery Room. When the Operating Rooms are quiet, the OB Technologist is trained to provide patient care for new mothers and mothers-to-be. The role also includes restocking supplies, cleaning and preparing rooms, transporting patients, and completing tasks for the health care team. The position offers opportunities to participate in hospital and system-wide Nursing Committees and Unit Councils, and to precept new OB Technicians.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a surgical technologist program sponsored by an entity holding nationally recognized institutional or programmatic accreditation, or through the US Army, Navy, or Air Force.
• Certification is required if surgical training took place on or after 12/29/2020.
• Certification is preferred if surgical technician training occurred on or before 12/29/2020 and the candidate practiced clinically at any time during the two preceding years.

Nice To Haves

• Previous surgical technician or Patient Care Technician experience is preferred.
• Certification is preferred for candidates whose surgical technician training occurred on or before 12/29/2020 and who practiced clinically at any time during the two preceding years.
