About The Position

The OB Technician performs a variety of duties in the care of patients in the hospital, under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role provides care for patients and their families across the lifespan, considering age-appropriate physical, psycho-social, educational, and safety needs. Responsibilities include direct patient/family contact, departmental duties, material management, communication, and departmental housekeeping. The OB Technician follows and understands department standards and recommended practices. A key responsibility is performing scrub duties for cesarean section deliveries and occasional vaginal deliveries.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Maintain American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS.
Certified Nursing Assistant.
Must possess current cognitive knowledge in medical terminology and abbreviation.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year previous Direct Patient Care experience in a Healthcare setting.

Responsibilities
