About The Position

This role involves providing specialized nursing care to women across the lifespan, including prenatal, postpartum, gynecological, and reproductive health needs. The OB/GYN RN assesses patients, administers medications and treatments, provides education and support, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote safe, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Flu Vaccine Required - Medical/Religious Exemptions Only
  • BLS Certification
  • Must bring own stethoscope
  • Epic Charting System Experience Required
  • ARDMS (OB) with (FE) certification Required
  • High Risk OB & OB/GYN skills required
  • Ability to perform Height/Weight assessments
  • Ability to interpret laboratory results
  • Ability to obtain Vital Signs
  • Ability to obtain Patient Health Questionnaire/History/Allergies
  • Ability to obtain Pulse Oximetry
  • Proficiency in Cardiac Arrest/CPR
  • Proficiency in Pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
  • Proficiency in Telephone Triage
  • Knowledge of Biohazard waste disposal
  • Ability to make follow-up phone calls
  • Ability to manage Medication refills
  • Ability to provide Patient Teaching
  • Experience in Labor & Delivery

  • Ability to perform Medication reconciliation
  • Experience with EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • Ability to administer Insulin
  • Ability to label specimens
  • Ability to collect Urine - UA/Clean Catch & Vaginal specimens

  • Ability to draw blood

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patients
  • Administers medications and treatments
  • Provides education and support
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote safe, high-quality patient care
  • Perform simple work up (blood pressure, HPI) & place patients in their room
  • Draw blood (preferred but not required)
  • Perform Height/Weight assessments
  • Interpret laboratory results
  • Obtain Vital Signs
  • Obtain Patient Health Questionnaire/History/Allergies
  • Obtain Pulse Oximetry
  • Respond to Cardiac Arrest/CPR situations
  • Handle Pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
  • Perform Telephone Triage
  • Manage Biohazard waste disposal
  • Make follow-up phone calls
  • Manage Medication refills
  • Provide Patient Teaching
