About The Position

The Obstetrician Gynecologist will provide excellent, evidence-based, efficient patient care services, as well as resident and student teaching, mentoring, and effective supervision. This role is a flexible position within the department of OB/GYN to help meet the clinical needs of the department, including outpatient, rural, and inpatient work. This is a PRN position that requires a minimum of 12 full shifts worked annually.

Requirements

  • Board Certification or active candidate for certification by ABOG.
  • Current North Carolina Medical License.
  • Hospital privileges at Mission Hospitals.
  • Current DEA certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Resident training experience preferred.
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Spanish language speaking skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Ob/Gyn residents, Family Practice residents, fellows, and students at Mission Hospitals on Labor and Delivery, as well as patients in the Emergency Room, Antepartum, and Postpartum, Operating room, and Post-operative setting.
  • Supervise advanced practice providers of MAHEC Ob-Gyn in Mission Hospitals.
  • Consult and collaborate with regional care providers seeking care for patients needing transport or with high acuity situations.
  • Provide collaboration and consultation for providers for whom MAHEC OB/GYN are the backup providers.
  • Provide collaboration and consultation as the Obstetric Hospitalist while fulfilling that role in Mission Hospitals.
  • Provide training and didactics on general obstetric and gynecologic topics.
  • Provide teaching topics for resident night float team.
  • Provide evaluation both formative and summative to residents and learners using myTIPreport.
  • Provide appropriate face-to-face feedback to residents and students in a professional and constructive manner.
