About The Position

The RN facilitates and provides care to patients in a busy, fast-paced OB/GYN clinic. The role includes obtaining basic vital signs, triaging patient phone calls, monitoring laboratory results and reporting them to physicians, and reviewing test results with patients as instructed by providers. The RN manages prescription refills with patients, pharmacies, and providers; ensures patient charts are complete ahead of appointments; pre-loads information into Epic; helps ensure patients are scheduled according to guidelines; and assists with prior authorizations.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and people skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team player.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of medical, financial, and staff-related information.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks at once in an organized manner.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• BSN degree required.
• Valid North Carolina RN license or Compact State RN license required.

Nice To Haves

• Computer skills, including Epic, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience in OB/GYN.
• Experience in a physician practice setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patients’ basic vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, and EKG.
• Triage patient phone calls.
• Monitor laboratory results and report them to physicians.
• Review test results with patients as instructed by the provider.
• Manage prescription refills in coordination with patients, pharmacies, and providers.
• Review patient charts before appointments to ensure records, referrals, and test results are present.
• Pre-load information into Epic.
• Ensure patients are scheduled appropriately according to guidelines.
• Assist with prior authorizations.
